Garvin, Bryant beat Fairleigh Dickinson, 73-60

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) Dan Garvin had 16 points, 18 rebounds and four steals - all career highs - to lead Bryant past Fairleigh Dickinson 73-60 and into a first-place tie in the Northeast Conference on Saturday.

Joe O'Shea scored 19 and Shane McLaughlin added 11 points, five assists and four steals for Bryant (6-7, 3-1).

Fairleigh Dickinson (7-8, 2-2) jumped out to a 10-4 lead with 14:54 left in the half, before going scoreless for nearly 7 minutes. Bryant rattled off 19-straight points during a 28-4 run, which gave the Bulldogs an 18-point lead with 5 1/2 minutes before halftime.

The Knights, which shot just 32.7 percent and made 4 of 22 from 3-point range, trailed by double digits the rest of the way.

Marques Townes led Fairleigh Dickinson with 15 points. Earl Pott Jr. added 11.
