Tennessee Tech over Austin Peay 72-56

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Charles Jackson netted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds as Tennessee Tech beat Austin Peay 72-56 on Saturday night.

Torrance Rowe added 18 points for the Golden Eagles (9-8, 1-3 Ohio Valley Conference). Josiah Moore had 13 points and Jordan Johnson 12. The team sank 41.7 percent from the field overall and 87.5 percent from the line.

A close first half ended with Tennessee Tech on top, 35-30.

Early in the second period, Austin Peay closed to within one, 39-38, on an Ed Dyson 3 with 15:20 remaining. But the Golden Eagles kept them in check then pulled away on a dunk by Javon McKay and a pair of 3-pointers by Johnson to go up 61-44 with 5:30 left.

Khalil Davis led the Governors (5-11, 0-2) with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Dyson and josh Robinson added 13 apiece.
