NJIT rolls to fifth consecutive win, beating Bears 79-60

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) Winfield Willis scored 22 points and NJIT ran its winning streak to five straight with a 79-60 victory over Division III St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) on Wednesday night.

Tim Coleman added 15 points and nine rebounds and Rob Ukawuba 12 points for the Highlanders (10-9), who have won five straight for first time since the 2012-13 season and are a victory shy of tying the program's Division I record of six consecutive wins set in 2010-11.

Matt O'Neill scored 23 points to lead the Bears (9-6) with Alec Willis adding 17 points.

NJIT led by six points at halftime behind 11 from Winfield Willis.

St. Joseph's got as close as two points in the second half and was trailing by three when the Highlanders went on an 11-2 run to lead 59-47. An 8-0 run, including two baskets by Odera Nweke, put NJIT up by 24 points, 77-53 with 3:25 remaining.
