Bryant over CCSU 70-54

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) Dan Garvin netted a double-double, scoring 15 points with 11 boards as Bryant handed Central Connecticut State its sixth-straight conference loss with a 70-54 win on Saturday.

Hunter Ware added 20 points for the Bulldogs (8-7, 5-1, Northeast Conference). Dyami Starks had 16 and Joe O'Shea chipped in nine. The team finished shooting 27 of 50 from the field and 11 of 15 from the line.

Central Connecticut State led through most of the first half until Ware and Starks combined for a pair of 3-pointers to finish out the period, giving Bryant a 28-27 edge at the break.

The Bulldogs opened the second half on a 16-7 run capped by a Ware 3 to go up 44-34 with 14:54 to play and led by double digits throughout the rest of the game.

Faronte Drakeford scored 19 points and grabbed four rebounds for the Blue Devils (2-17, 0-6).
