Green Bay squeaks by Detroit, 70-64

DETROIT (AP) Keifer Sykes scored 28 points on 11 of 19 shooting from the field to lead Green Bay past Detroit 70-64 on Saturday.

The game was the fourth out of the last five in which Sykes has scored at least 24 points or more.

Greg Mays finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Carrington Love added 14 points and five assists for the Phoenix (15-4, 4-1 Horizon League), who with the win avoided their first back-to-back losses in three years.

With the game tied at 57 with 4:21 to play, Love nailed a 3-pointer to spark a 10-2 Phoenix run that extended their lead to eight and put the game away.

Juwan Howard Jr. scored 19 points to lead Detroit (9-10, 3-2). Anton Wilson added 12 points off the bench for the Titans, who finished with 16 total assists but were plagued by 19 turnovers.
