Lipscomb surges past Kennesaw St. 91-77

KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) Malcolm Smith scored a career-high 29 points, Josh Williams added 28 and Lipscomb rolled to a 91-77 victory over Kennesaw State on Saturday.

Smith was 8 of 18 from the floor, 12 of 13 from the line and grabbed 11 boards. Williams drained eight 3-pointers on 10-of-14 shooting overall. Nathan Moran chipped in 13 points and J.C. Hampton dished out seven assists for Lipscomb (9-9, 3-0 Atlantic Sun Conference), which is off to its best A-Sun Conference start in school history.

Kennesaw State jumped out to an early 27-21 lead. Williams answered with back-to-back 3s, sparking a 23-9 run to close out the first half and the Bisons led by double digits the rest of the way.

Damien Wilson had 25 points and 10 rebounds, and Yonel Brown added 21 points to lead Kennesaw State (5-14, 0-3).
