AKRON, Ohio (AP) Reggie McAdams scored a career-best 31 points - including six 3-pointers - to lead Akron to an 82-76 win over Central Michigan on Saturday night.

Noah Robotham added 12 points and Deji Ibitayo had nine for the Zips (12-5, 3-1 Mid-American Conference), who hit 45 percent from the field overall and 48.3 percent from the line.

In the first period, McAdams sank a trio of 3-pointers and Robotham hit two more to lift Akron to a 39-24 lead at the break.

McAdams' 3-pointers continued to drop in the second period, keeping Central Michigan in check until a 12-2 run by the Chippewas capped by a Chris Fowler layup brought them to within three, 73-70, with 2:10 remaining. But Nyles Evans hit a 3 and Ibitayo and Jake Kretzer combined for 6 of 6 from the line for the Zips to finish.

Fowler led the Chippewas (12-3, 2-2) with 26 points and five assists.
