Old Dominion defeats North Texas 61-50

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) Trey Freeman had 18 points, including four 3-pointers and four boards, to lead Old Dominion to a 61-50 win over North Texas on Saturday.

Aaron Bacote had 14 points and six rebounds and Richard Ross had 10 boards for the Monarchs (15-2, 4-1 Conference USA). Freeman had 11 of his 18 points in the first half.

Jordan Williams finished with 23 points and four rebounds on 8-of-17 shooting for North Texas (7-10, 1-4). The Mean Green shot a mere 34.7 percent from the field and 18.8 percent from 3-point range.

With the score knotted at 16 in the first half, Old Dominion scored the next 14 points including two 3-pointers from Freeman. The lead did not dip below nine for the rest of the game and ascended as high as 16 with 3:46 left in the game.
