Air Force G Max Yon to take leave of absence for personal issue

Air Force announced Monday that guard Max Yon, the team's leading scorer, is taking a leave of absence to deal with a personal issue.

Air Force head coach Dave Pilipovich announced Monday that guard Max Yon is taking a leave of absence to deal with a personal issue, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.

It's unclear how long Yon will be away from the team.

From the Gazette:

"Some things have come up with him," Pilipovich said. "We talked yesterday and he's going to take a leave of absence from the team right now. For how long, it's going to [be] up to him.

"Other than that he's in good standing here at the academy academically, military, he's doing all those good things. It's just something with him personally, so we're going to respect that. He's part of our family and we love Max and hopefully we'll get him back soon."

Yon had already missed the team's last two games due to a bruised thigh.

Yon, a senior, is Air Force's leading scorer at 15.3 points per game and leading assist-maker with 2.5 per game.

The Falcons are 8-9 overall this season and 1-5 in the Mountain West. They next play Tuesday against San Diego State.
