ATHENS, Ga. (AP) Georgia football coach Mark Richt has received a two-year contract extension that ties him to the Bulldogs through 2019 and increases his salary to $4 million a year.

The school's executive committee approved the new contract Wednesday, boosting Richt from $3.2 million a year.

Athletic director Greg McGarity says he is ''very pleased'' with the direction of the program and expects ''great things in the years to come.''

Richt just completed his 14th season with the Bulldogs, who went 10-3 and finished No. 9 in The Associated Press rankings. It was his ninth 10-win season and sixth time Georgia has finished in the Top 10.

A career record of 136-48 makes Richt the third-winningest coach in school history. He is poised to pass Wally Butts (140-86-9) next season.
