Hampton, Lipscomb beat Jacksonville 80-77 in 2OT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) J.C. Hampton scored 12 of his 17 after the end of regulation and finished with a career-high 10 assists to help Lipscomb overcome a 14-point halftime deficit and beat Jacksonville 80-77 in double overtime on Thursday night.

Josh Williams led Lipscomb (10-9, 4-0 Atlantic Sun) with 22 points. Malcolm Smith added 16 and eight rebounds.

A jumper by Hampton sparked a 6-0 run which made it 76-70 with 53 second left in the second overtime. Josh Adeyeye's 3-pointer cut Jacksonville's deficit in half 15 seconds later but, after the teams traded a free throw apiece, Williams made two from the stripe to make it 79-74 with 17 seconds to go.

Kori Babineaux converted a three-point play and pulled Jacksonville (7-14, 1-3) within two before Hampton made the first of two free throws to put Lipscomb up three with 10 seconds remaining.

Andris Misters, who led Jacksonville with 22 points, missed a potential tying 3-pointer as time expired.
