Clark, Brownridge lead Santa Clara over LMU 65-62

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) Brandon Clark made two free throws with 11 seconds left and finished with 29 points in Santa Clara's 65-62 victory over Loyola Marymount on Thursday night.

Jared Brownridge gave Santa Clara (10-10, 4-4 West Coast Conference) the lead for good at 63-60 on a 3-pointer with 1:13 left. Evan Payne's jumper pulled LMU (5-15, 1-7) within 63-62 with 51 seconds.

Payne missed a layup with 12 seconds left and Nate Kratch secured the rebound before Clark's free throws.

Brownridge was 6 of 10 from 3-point range with 20 points and Kratch grabbed 11 boards. The Broncos took control with a 9-0 run late in the first half and led until the Lions tied it at 51-all midway through the second. The Lions tied three more times but never went in front.

Marin Mornar led Loyola Marymount with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Godwin Okonji scored 13 and Payne added 12.
