Stony Brook beats UMass-Lowell 65-45

LOWELL, Mass. (AP) Rayshaun McGrew had 15 points and eight rebounds on Thursday night as Stony Brook jumped ahead early and cruised to a 65-45 victory over Massachusetts-Lowell.

Stony Brook (13-8, 4-2 America East Conference) had 19-2 run to go up 31-12 on Deshaun Thrower's 3-pointer with 7:10 left in the first half. The Seawolves stretched the lead to 21 points just before halftime, taking a 37-16 advantage into the break.

UMass-Lowell (9-11, 3-4) was no closer than 15 in the second half.

Jameel Warney had eight of his 13 points and all of his seven rebounds before the break. Six players finished with at least eight for the Seawolves, who shot 51.8 percent and outrebounded the River Hawks 37-23.

Matt Harris had 12 points to lead the River Hawks, who lost their third in a row, the previous two in overtime.
