Poole scores 20 as Siena pulls away from Marist 69-60

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) Rob Poole, who missed the last two games with an injury, scored 20 points to lead Sienna to a 69-60 win over Marist on Friday night.

Poole, who was considered questionable because of a sprained ankle, hit 5 of 7 3-pointers and grabbed seven rebounds for the Saints (7-10, 4-4 Metro Atlantic). Lavon Long added 15 points, Marquis Wright 14 and Javion Ogunyemi 11.

Poole hit three 3s and Ogunyemi had a layup in an 11-0 run as the Saints broke away in the first 3 1/2 minutes of the second half to take a 41-33 lead.

After Chavaughn Lewis, who led the Red Foxes (1-18, 0-9) with 19, ended the drought, Siena scored the next nine points, the last five by Long, to lead 50-35 at the 12:54 mark.

Siena shot 46 percent and made 20 of 32 free throws while Marist shot 34 percent and was 10 of 15 from the line.
