CB D'Andre Payne transferring from Tennessee to Maryland

Payne recorded four tackles over appearances in eight games during his freshman season at Tennessee.

Volunteers coach Butch Jones announced in December that Payne would transfer.

The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Payne was rated the No. 18 cornerback and No. 230 player in the class of 2014 by Rivals.com.

Payne will likely have to sit out next year in compliance with NCAA transfer regulations.

Maryland finished 7-6 last season.
