Terrell scores 19, Rhode Island beats St. Bonaventure 53-48

KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) Jared Terrell scored a career-high 19 points and Hassan Martin had two blocks in the final minute to help Rhode Island hold off St. Bonaventure 53-48 on Sunday.

Youssou Ndoye hit two free throws for St. Bonaventure to tie the game at 47 with 2:32 left, but T.J. Buchanan answered with two of his own for Rhode Island. After a St. Bonaventure turnover, Buchanan made two more from the line for a four-point lead and the Bonnies held on.

Martin had 10 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocked shots for Rhode Island (13-5, 5-2 Atlantic 10). Buchanan made 5 of 6 free throws in the final three minutes.

The Rams were playing without their leading scorer E.C. Matthews who was out with a foot injury.

Dion Wright made 10 of 18 field goals and finished with 22 points with 10 rebounds for St. Bonaventure (11-7, 4-3). Jaylen Adams added 10 points.
