NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) Brandon Peel took a floor-length in-bounds baseball pass from Faronte Drakeford and knocked down a contested turnaround 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Central Connecticut State a come-from-behind, 53-50 win over Wagner for its first Northeastern Conference victory of the season Saturday night.

Wagner (6-13, 4-4 NEC) held a 34-30 lead at the break and maintained it through the second half until Matt Mobley's layup with 2:40 left gave the Blue Devils a 47-46 lead. Marcus Burton pulled Wagner even, tying the game at 50-50 on a 3-pointer with one second left.

The victory pulled Central Connecticut State even in the 40-game series history, with each team winning 20 games.

Peel finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Blue Devils (3-18, 1-7). The game winner was his lone shot from beyond the arc. Mobley finished with 12 points.

Burton finished with 19 points for the Seahawks.
