SIU Edwardsville beats SE Missouri State, 75-61

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) Kris Davis scored 23 points on 8 of 13 shooting from the field to lead SIU-Edwardsville to a 75-61 victory over SE Missouri State on Thursday night.

C.J. Carr added 18 points, including 10 of 10 at the free throw line, off the bench for the Cougars (8-11, 4-4 Ohio Valley Conference), who finished 20 of 24 at the line as a team. The Cougars also won the rebounding battle by eight and forced 19 Redhawks turnovers.

SIU-Edwardsville led just 35-34 at the half, but opened up the second period on an 11-3 run capped by a Donivine Stewart jumper. The Cougars held SE Missouri State at arm's length the remainder of the night.

Isiah Jones and Jamaal Calvin each scored 12 to lead the Redhawks (9-11, 3-4).
