Arkansas-Little Rock surges to 75-65 win over Arkansas State

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) Josh Hagins scored a career-high 28 points, on 10-of-13 shooting, to lead Arkansas-Little Rock to a 75-65 win over Arkansas State on Thursday night.

Hagins made 2 of 3 from 3-point range and 6 of 7 from the line.

Roger Woods added 13 points and hauled in 11 rebounds for UALR (8-12, 3-7 Sun Belt), which lost the rebounding battle 39-28 but converted 19 Arkansas State turnovers into 24 points to get its first win in Jonesboro since 2012.

The Trojans trailed by as many as 13 in the first half but cut the gap to 38-37 at the break, then used a 12-0 run that included 3s from Hagins and Josh Reid to build a 62-50 lead midway through the second half and protected it down the stretch.

Cameron Golden led Arkansas State (9-11, 4-7) with 17 points; Sean Gardner had 15 and Anthony Livingston 10.
