UC Davis fends off UC Santa Barbara, 70-64

DAVIS, Calif. (AP) Corey Hawkins scored 28 points, including 6 of 8 from 3-point range, Neil Monson added 16 off the bench, and UC Davis beat UC Santa Barbara 70-64 on Thursday night.

After UC Santa Barbara's Eric Childress tied it at 62 with 1:43 remaining, the Aggies (15-4, 5-1 Big West Conference) reeled off a 7-2 run, capped by a pair of free throws by Darius Graham, to grab a 69-64 lead with 19 seconds left and put the game out of reach.

UC Davis shot 48.9 percent from the field, including 8 of 18 from 3-point range, and hit 16 of 19 at the free throw line. The Aggies are the only team in Division I in the top five in both field goal and 3-point percentage.

Michael Bryson scored 18 points to lead UC Santa Barbara (10-10, 3-3). Gabe Vincent added 15 points.
