NC State and offensive coordinator Matt Canada have agreed to a three-year extension, reportsSI's Pete Thamel.

According to Thamel, interest in Canada from a "major power" prompted the deal. ESPN's Brett McMurphy reports that Canada was one of three finalists for the offensive coordinator job at Tennessee.

Canada recently completed his second season as the Wolfpack's OC. He's previously served in the same position at Butler, Northern Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.
