William & Mary beats James Madison, 84-65

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) Daniel Dixon scored 25 points, including 5 of 8 from 3-point range, to lead William & Mary to a convincing 84-65 victory over James Madison on Saturday.

Omar Prewitt finished with 21 points and Marcus Thornton added 17 points for William & Mary (14-7, 7-2 Colonial Athletic Association), whose win snaps a three game losing skid against James Madison and extending Thornton's streak of 26 consecutive games in double figures.

The Tribe shot 60.4 percent from the field, hit 11 3-pointers, and held a 36-14 advantage on points in the paint.

William & Mary opened the game on a 37-8 stretch and led 43-22 at the half. The lead grew to as many as 28 in the second half.

Jackson Kent led James Madison (13-10, 6-4) with 19 points. Ron Curry added 16 points, six boards, and six assists.
