Longwood survives Presbyterian, 71-67

CLINTON, S.C. (AP) Leron Fisher scored 26 points including a career high five 3-pointers to lead Longwood to a 71-67 victory over Presbyterian on Saturday.

Quincy Taylor added 14 points on 6 of 10 shooting from the field and five rebounds for Longwood (7-16, 3-7 Big South). Taylor is currently on pace to break the school record for 3-point shooting percentage at better than 50 percent.

The Lancers shot 51 percent from the field in the game, holding Presbyterian to 43 percent, while maintaining a plus-4 advantage on points in the paint.

Longwood held a double digit lead for much of the second half, at one point reaching 15. The Blue Hose staged a comeback in the final six minutes however, cutting their deficit as low as four but could not get closer.

Jordan Downing scored 28 points to lead Presbyterian (7-16, 3-7).
