Texas A&M-Corpus Christi sneaks past Incarnate Word 71-70

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) John Jordan scored nine points in the final 1:52 as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi came back for a 71-70 win over Incarnate Word on Tuesday night.

Incarnate Word was ahead 58-49 with 7:39 left in the game. The Islanders chipped away at the lead until Jordan nailed a 3-pointer with 1:52 left to tie at 65. Jordan followed with a jumper to give the Islanders their first lead in the second half, 67-65. UIWs Mitchell Badillo hit two free throws to close to 69-67 with eight seconds left. Jordan responded with two free throws to seal the win.

Jordan, who finished with 19 points, scored 16 in the second half. Rashwan Thomas had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Brandon Pye added 12 points for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (12-9, 7-2 Southland Conference).

Badillo had 17 points and Denzel Livingston and Traylin Farris added 15 apiece for UIW (12-6, 4-4).
