Holy Cross overtakes Colgate 70-60

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) Justin Burrell scored 15 points and dished out eight assists to help Holy Cross overtake Colgate in the second half for a 70-60 win Thursday night.

Malachi Alexander contributed 14 points, including a pair of key 3-pointers; Eric Green added 13 points and Malcolm Miller had 12 for Holy Cross (9-12, 4-7 Patriot League). The Crusaders shot 54 percent on 50 attempts from the floor and controlled the boards 29-22 to snap their two-game skid.

Trailing by nine at the break, Holy Cross took the lead midway through the second half during an 11-0 run capped by a layup and 3-pointer from Alexander that made it 57-49 with 4:46 left. Alexander hit another 3 with 1:30 remaining and the Crusaders closed out with 6-for-6 shooting from the line.

Ethan Jacobs led Colgate (10-14, 7-4) with 13 points, Matt McMullen added 12 and Austin Tillotson and Luke Roh had 10 apiece.
