Little scores 21 as Maine defeats Binghamton 67-64

ORONO, Maine (AP) Kevin Little knocked down a 3-pointer with 41 seconds remaining to give Maine a four-point cushion, and the Black Bears made 6 of 6 foul shots in the final seconds to fend off a persistent Binghamton team 67-64 on Saturday.

Little, in his second game back after sitting one out for personal reasons, scored 21 points with three 3-pointers.

Maine (3-21, 2-9 America East) led by 12 with 8:00 left before Binghamton used an 8-0 run to close to 53-49. The Bearcats came within a point four times in the final 2:34 but Maine answered each time.

Little's trey with under a minute was the key, and Maine finished 16 of 17 at the line.

Troy Reid-Knight, Little and Zarko Valjarevic each hit both ends of one-and-ones in the last 14 seconds.

Willie Rodriguez, 18 points, and Marlon Beck, 17, each hit 3-pointers down the stretch for Binghamton (4-22, 3-8).
