Eastern Washington pulls out 61-51 win over Montana State

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) Drew Brandon scored 15 points with 12 rebounds and five steals and Eastern Washington overcame one of its worst offensive games of the season Saturday for a 61-51 win over Montana State.

Playing without the nation's leading scorer Tyler Harvey (23.4 ppg) for the second straight game, the Eagles (18-5, 9-1 Big Sky) shot 35 percent and made just four 3-pointers for their lowest output in league play and second lowest of the season.

The Bobcats (4-19, 1-10) were worse on offense. After opening the second half with an 8-0 to go up 42-35 with 18:27 to play, Montana State made just three baskets in 35 possessions, ending up at 32.8 percent shooting (21 percent in the second half) and with 19 turnovers.

Venky Jois added 13 points for Eastern Washington, which won 18 games for the first time since 2003 and swept the Montana road trip for the first time since 2004, the fourth time in 28 years.

Marcus Colbert had 15 points for Montana State.
