Presbyterian pulls away late for 69-61 win over Liberty

CLINTON, S.C. (AP) DeSean Murray had 21 points and nine rebounds and Presbyterian beat Liberty 69-61 on Friday, extending the Flames' losing streak against Division I opponents to 15.

Markus Terry's free throw capped a 10-2 run, giving the Blue Hose (8-17, 4-8 Big South) a 65-56 lead with 42 seconds left.

Terry was 3 of 5 from 3-point range with 14 points and William Truss added 10. Presbyterian had a 10-2 run to lead 53-45 on Ruben Arroyo-Felix's 3-pointer with 8:30 left.

Liberty (6-19, 0-12) scored seven straight to get within 55-54 with 4:43 left but got no closer the rest of the way. It was the first time in conference play this season that the Flames were within one possession with less than five minutes to go.

Andrew Smith was 8 for 11 from the field with 16 points to lead Liberty. Ryan Kemrite scored 14 and Theo Johnson 13.
