Cooley was dealing with an apparent stomach ailment and was complaining of breathing issues, the paper notes.
Providence lost the game, 78-69, to fall to 17-7 and 7-4 in the Big East. Cooley, 45, is in his fourth season as the Friars' head coach.
UPDATE: According to the Journal, Cooley did not travel home on Providence's charter plane, and an update on his condition will be provided on Sunday.
UPDATE: According to ESPN's Jeff Goodman, Cooley is doing "very well" and will be held overnight at a Cincinnati hospital.
