Incarnate Word holds on to beat Lamar 78-72

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Denzel Livingston and Traylin Farris combined for 42 points as Incarnate Word held on for a 78-72 win over Lamar in Southland Conference action on Saturday night.

Four of Incarnate Word's players scored in double figures as the starters had all the baskets for the Cardinals. Livingston, who now has 1,509 career points, had 22 points, nine rebounds and five steals.

Farris had 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor, Kyle Hittle made 3 of 6 from long range for 17 and Jontrell Walker chipped in 11 for UIW (13-6, 5-4)

UIW had a 39-35 halftime lead and was ahead 60-54 with 8:20 left in the game. Lamar had a 15-6 run to lead 69-66 with 4:52 left. UIW retook the lead 72-71 on a Livingston dunk with 3:19 left and never trailed again.

Tyran de Lattibeaudiere and Anthony Holliday had 15 apiece and Dontavious Sears added 13 for Lamar (11-12, 5-6).
