Upson powers SE Louisiana over Abilene Christian 65-52

ABILENE, Texas (AP) Devonte Upson scored a career-high 24 points and added nine rebounds to lead SE Louisiana to a 65-52 win over Abilene Christian on Saturday, snapping a four-game losing streak.

Cedric Jenkins added 14 points for the Lions (6-16, 3-6 Southland) and Upson's points came on 12-of-14 shooting from the field.

Harrison Hawkins had 18 points, including four 3-pointers, and Austin Cooke added 13 points and seven rebounds for Abilene Christian (9-14, 3-7). The Wildcats hit nine 3-pointers but only went to the free throw line four times, dropping their seventh straight game after a 3-0 start to conference play.

SE Louisiana was up by two points midway through the second half before going on a 15-4 run, capped by a Jenkins 3-pointer, to take a 13-point lead. The Lions inched their lead up to 16 and did not trail the entire second half.
