Ohio State freshman guard D'Angelo Russell recorded his first college triple-double in a win over Rutgers on Sunday.

In OSU's 79-60 road win, Russell played 35 minutes and scored 23 points with 11 assists and 11 rebounds. He shot 8-of-13 from the floor, including 3-of-7 from three-point range.

No. 20 Ohio State never trailed in the game, and led by as many as 25 points early in the second half.

Rutgers cut the lead to 69-57 with a late run, but Russell found Jae'Sean Tate for a layup and then hit a jumper to secure the Buckeyes' win.

Russell leads all freshmen in scoring at 19.4 points per game. He has scored in double digits in all but one game this season, and has scored at least 20 points in 12 games and at least 30 twice. He set his career-high with 33 points in a Jan. 22 win over Northwestern.

Ohio State (18-6) is tied for second in the Big Ten at 7-4. The Buckeyes will host Penn State on Wednesday.
