Livingston scores 32; Incarnate Word beats Nicholls 73-64

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Denzel Livingston had 32 points and seven steals to lead Incarnate Word to a 73-64 victory over Nicholls in Southland Conference action on Tuesday night.

The Cardinals, who have won five of their last six games, were without starting guard Mitchell Badillo, who was out with a shoulder injury. Starter Jontrell Walker was limited with an ankle injury and went scoreless.

Livingston, who averages 21.9 points a game, has scored at least 30 points four times this season. Kyle Hittle had 18 points and Shawn Johnson added 13 for UWI (14-6, 6-4).

Trailing 61-46 with 5:31 remaining, Nicholls' Sam McBeath completed a three-point play to start a 13-6 run and close to 67-59 with 1:04 left. Livingston answered with two free throws and Hittle split a pair for a 70-60 lead with 44 seconds left.

T.J. Carpenter had 20 points and McBeath and Ja'Dante' Frye had 13 apiece for Nicholls (7-14, 4-7).
