Green Bay beats Youngstown State 63-62

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) Keifer Sykes sank a jumper with 25 seconds remaining to give Green Bay a 63-62 victory over Youngstown State on Wednesday night.

Sykes' winning basket came with the Phoenix (20-5, 9-2 Horizon League) trailing 62-61 after he had tied the game 58-58 on a 3-pointer with 2:09 to play. Carrington Love hit another 3 to give Green Bay a 61-58 edge with 1:43 left before Youngstown State went back up by one on a Bobby Hain jumper and a pair of free throws by DJ Cole.

Alfonzo McKinnie netted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Phoenix. Greg Mays had 15 points, Love had 12 and Sykes finished with 11.

Youngstown State trailed through most of the first period but went ahead 33-31 just before the break on a Shaun Stewart 3-pointer.

Marcus Keene led the Penguins (10-17, 1-11) with 21 points.
