IPFW never trails in 69-54 win over IUPUI

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Max Landis and Joe Edwards scored 14 points apiece to lead IPFW to a 69-54 win over IUPUI on Wednesday night.

Landis also dished out six assists and hauled in five rebounds as IPFW (14-11, 7-5 Summit League) got its sixth straight victory, the program's longest win streak since the 1992-93 season. Steve Forbes added 12 points and six blocks, and Mo Evans had 11 points.

The Mastadons shot 51 percent from the field on 49 attempts and never trailed.

Tied at 11 midway through the first half, IPFW took control with a 7-0 burst ignited by Evans' 3-pointer and carried a 32-23 advantage into the break. The Mastadons led by double figures most of the second half.

DavRon Williams led IUPUI (8-17, 4-7) with 14 points, Khufu Najee added 11 and Mason Archie II had 10. The Jaguars shot just 35 percent overall.
