USC hires Bob Connelly as offensive line coach

LOS ANGELES (AP) Southern California has hired Bob Connelly as offensive line coach and run game coordinator under coach Steve Sarkisian.

Connelly spent last season handling the offensive line at Oklahoma State, which won the Cactus Bowl. He previously was offensive line coach and associate head coach at Arizona State in 2012. He left there to coach the offensive line at Gilbert (Arizona) High in 2013.

In 2007, Connelly was the O-line coach at UCLA. The 44-year-old Texas native's other coaching stops include Alabama, Cal State Northridge, San Jose State, UTEP, Washington State and Texas A&M-Commerce, where he began his career in 1995.

The hiring was announced Wednesday.
