East Carolina hires James Madison's Brad Davis as OL coach

James Madison co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Brad Davis has agreed to become East Carolina’s offensive line coach.

James Madison co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Brad Davis has agreed to become East Carolina’s run game coordinator and offensive line coach, according to a source.

This past season was Davis' first season at James Madison. He replaces Brandon Jones, who last month left for California.

Prior to James Madison, the 34-year-old Davis spent 2009-13 as run game coordinator and offensive line coach at Portland State, which runs a Pistol offense. He was an offensive line graduate assistant at North Carolina in 2008.

Before that, he was a defensive lineman graduate assistant at Texas A&M for two seasons. He was run game coordinator and offensive line coach at Doane College in 2005.

Davis was co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Southern University Lab School in his native Baton Rouge, Louisiana from 2003-04. He played offensive line at Oklahoma from 1998 through 2002.

Behind its high-octane offense, East Carolina had an 8-5 record this past season under coach Ruffin McNeill. He has a 37-27 record in his five seasons with the Pirates.
