Rutgers head coach Kyle Flood is on the verge of hiring a booster as the Scarlet Knights' next recruiting coordinator, reports Keith Sargeant of NJ Advance Media.

Jeff Towers, a New York business consultant and financial supporter of Rutgers' football program, is expected to be hired along with Illinois director of player personnel Marcus Berry.

Towers doesn't appear to have football experience, but according to his LinkedIn profile, he is an "executive with 30 years of experience leading robust marketing, communications and fundraising programs in some of the largest nonprofit organizations in America." The profile says Towers is principal at Jeffrey Towers & Associates, a New York non-profit firm.

In one of his most recent tweets, Towers seemed to reference the school's 2016 recruiting class with the hashtag "#RUDreamteam16."

Flood told NJ Advance Media by phone that "nobody has been hired as of yet," though he did confirm that Towers, Berry and volunteer assistant E.J. Barthel have interviewed for positions in the Scarlet Knights' recruiting department. Along with Towers and Berry, Barthel is expected to be appointed to a role in the recruiting department.

Berry will join Rutgers after spending the 2014 season at Illinois and the previous four seasons in the same director of player personnel role at North Carolina.
