Bryant holds off Fairleigh Dickinson 74-71

TEANECK, N.J. (AP) Dyami Starks scored 31 points and Bryant held off Fairleigh Dickinson 74-71 on Thursday night.

The Bulldogs (12-12, 9-4), previously tied with Robert Morris (12-13, 8-5), now hold sole possession of second place in the Northeast Conference.

Fairleigh Dickinson (7-12, 2-11) tied the score five times in the close contest, but trailed by 10 points with 4:23 left to play. The Knights closed within three points, 69-66, with 1:52 remaining. A three-point play from Curtis Oakley gave Bryant a six-point lead.

Darian Anderson hit a 3 and Matt MacDonald knocked down a pair of free throws to pull the Knights within one with 12 seconds left. Oakley made two at the line for the final margin.

Starks was 5 of 10 from distance and a perfect 8 of 8 at the free-throw line.

Anderson scored 19 points and MacDonald added 16 as the Knights recorded their 11th straight loss.
