Texas-San Antonio hangs on against Texas-San Antonio, 72-67

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Keon Lewis scored 21 points, including a perfect 9 for 9 at the free throw line, to help Texas-San Antonio sneak past Old Dominion 72-67 on Thursday night.

Down 65-64 with 2:17 left, Texas-San Antonio (13-10, 7-5 Conference USA) scored eight of the game's final 10 points, including 4 of 4 at the free throw line to seal the game. Overall, the Roadrunners hit 20 of their 24 attempts at the line (83.3 percent), 13.9 percent higher than their season average. Old Dominion finished with just one field goal over the final 3:21, a layup by Richard Ross.

Ryan Bowie added 16 points for Texas-San Antonio, which shot 51.1 percent from the field.

Trey Freeman led Old Dominion (18-5, 7-4) with 19 points, which had a three-game win streak snapped.

The game was just the third all-time between the two, and the first ever in San Antonio.
