Stony Brook smashes Maine, 80-52

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) Roland Nyama scored a career-high 24 points on 9 of 12 shooting and added five rebounds to help lead Stony Brook to an 80-52 victory over Maine on Saturday.

Three other Seawolves (16-10, 7-4 America East Conference) finished in double-figures led by Jameel Warney's 13 points, followed by Carson Puriefoy with 12 and Rayshaun McGrew with 10. McGrew also added 15 rebounds and Warney finished with 11. Warney is one of 17 Division I players to average a double-double this season.

Stony Brook limited Maine to 36 percent shooting and forced 12 turnovers. Overall, the Seawolves are 11-1 when holding opponents below 40 percent shooting.

Stony Brook opened the game on a 12-0 run and led 42-25 at the break. The Seawolves led by as many as 39 late.

Till Gloger led Maine (3-22, 2-10) with 15 points. The Black Bears have lost 17 of 19 since early December.
