St. Francis Brooklyn wins 71-62 for sixth straight victory

NEW YORK (AP) Chris Hooper scored a career-high 16 points and Northeast Conference leader St. Francis Brooklyn rallied to beat Sacred Heart 71-62 on Saturday for its sixth straight victory.

Brent Jones added 15 points and nine assists and Tyreek Jewell 12 points for the Terriers (18-9, 12-2), who hold a three-game lead in the NEC with four games to go.

Evan Kelley, Cane Broome and Jordan Allen had 12 points each for the Pioneers (12-15, 6-8), who had a three-game win streak snapped.

Gunnar Olafsson made a 3-pointer to cut a Pioneers lead to 35-31 at halftime. The Terriers came out in the second half on a 9-2 run to take a 40-37 lead. The Terriers built the lead to nine but the Pioneers got within three, 60-57, with 5:53 left. With 1:15 to go, St. Francis scored seven unanswered points to lead 71-59 and put the game away.
