Canisius snaps skid with 69-55 win over St. Peter's

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) Jeremiah Williams scored a career-high 22 points, hitting 7 of 9 shots and all six free throws, to lead Canisius to a 69-55 win over St. Peter's on Sunday.

Josiah Heath contributed 15 points to go with 10 rebounds and Kevin Bleeker added 10 points as Canisius (13-12, 8-8 Metro Atlantic) shot 50 percent on 46 attempts from the field and controlled the board 36-26 to snap a four-game skid. It was Heath's third double-double of the season.

Canisius, which never trailed, took control midway through the first half with an 11-2 run that included 3-pointers from Williams and Zach Lewis to carry a 33-18 advantage into the break. A 7-0 spurt bookended by buckets from Bleeker midway through the second half gave Canisius its biggest lead at 54-28.

Dominique Marvin led St. Peter's (13-14, 7-9) with 15 points and Chazz Patterson added 10.
