Northern Kentucky coasts to 82-57 win over Stetson

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (AP) Tayler Persons scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help propel Northern Kentucky to an 82-57 win over Stetson on Saturday night.

Tyler White contributed 14 points, including three 3-pointers, and Todd Johnson added 12 points as Northern Kentucky (11-14, 5-5 Atlantic Sun) avenged its Jan. 29 loss to Stetson and evened the all-time series at 3-3.

The Norse dominated from long range, pouring in 11 3-pointers on 26 attempts while holding Stetson (8-18, 2-8) to just 3 of 12 from behind the arc.

Northern Kentucky took control with a 15-3 run that included two 3-pointers from White to close out the first half and carry a 42-25 advantage into the break. Chad Jackson's layup midway through the second gave the Norse their biggest lead of the game, 64-33, with 10:34 to play.

Grant Lozoya led Stetson with 16 points, Kentwan Smith added 14 and Angel Rivera had 10.
