LOS ANGELES (AP) Michael Bryson was 5 of 7 from 3-point range with a season-high 26 points as UC Santa Barbara topped Cal State Northridge 65-57 Saturday night.

Bryson's 3-pointer in the first minute of the second half tied it 34-all and sparked a 9-1 run that gave the Santa Barbara (13-11, 6-4 Big West) the lead for good.

Northridge (6-21, 2-10) closed within 40-39 with 13:19 left, but UCSB answered with nine straight points. The Matadors then got back within five with five minutes to go but had four turnovers and only one field goal down the stretch.

Bryson had seven rebounds. He has scored 16 or more in six of the seven games since UCSB's leading scorer Alan Williams was sidelined with a left shoulder injury. The Gauchos have gone 5-2 over that stretch.

Taelin Webb had 13 points, and Stephen Hicks and Aaron Parks added 11 each for Northridge.
