Hot-shooting Grand Canyon dominates Utah Valley 83-57

PHOENIX (AP) DeWayne Russell was 8 of 16 from the floor for 19 points to lead five players in double figures as hot-shooting Grand Canyon dominated Utah Valley to take an 83-57 victory on Saturday night.

De'Andre Davis had 14 points, Joshua Braun made 13, Jerome Garrison added 12 and Royce Woolridge chipped in 10 for Grand Canyon (15-11, 6-3 Western Athletic Conference).

The Antelopes made 34 of 55 field goals (61.8 percent) while limiting Utah Valley to 21-of-54 shooting (38.9 percent). Grand Canyon also won the rebound battle 33 to 24.

The Antelopes, who led throughout the game, were ahead 36-19 at the 4:40 mark in the first half, had a 47-33 advantage at the break and were leading 59-41 midway of the second period.

Zach Nelson was 5 of 9 from long range to total 17 for Utah Valley (9-15, 3-6). Mitch Bruneel had 13 and Donte Williams added 10.
