Arkansas-Pine Bluff sneaks by Alcorn State, 74-70

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) JoVaughn Love scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds off the bench to help lead Arkansas-Pine Bluff, to a 74-70 victory over Alcorn State on Tuesday night.

Tevin Hammond finished with 13 points for Arkansas-Pine Bluff (9-18, 6-7 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Thaddeus Handley added 12, and Trent Whiting had 10 capping four Golden Lions with double figures.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff won despite being without leading scorer Marcel Mosley.

Leantwan Luckett scored 21 points to lead Alcorn State (5-20, 4-9), which has lost back to back games and seven of its last eight. Reginald Johnson added 16 points and Michael Davis had 10 for the Braves, which led 26-21 at halftime and opened up a double digit lead early in the second, but Arkansas-Pine Bluff battled back, scoring 53 points in the final period.

The game was originally scheduled for Monday night, but was postponed because of inclement weather.
