Mount St. Mary's hits FTs to hold off Fairleigh Dickinson

EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) Byron Ashe tied his career-high with 24 points to help Mount St. Mary's beat Fairleigh Dickinson 75-64 on Saturday.

Ashe has scored 24, 23 and 24 in his last three games, including 16 in the second half against Fairleigh Dickinson.

Gregory Graves had 15 points and 13 rebounds, Will Miller had 12 points and Kristijan Krajina added 10 for Mount St. Mary's (14-13, 10-6 Northeast Conference). The Mountaineers held a 43-25 advantage on the glass, including 19-9 on the offensive end.

Mount St. Mary's hit six first-half 3-pointers and led 38-24 at halftime after holding Fairleigh Dickinson to 32 percent shooting. Ashe had five 3-pointers overall.

Stephan Jiggetts led Fairleigh Dickinson (7-20, 2-14) with 17 points. Mustafaa Jones added 15 and Darian Anderson 13.

Mount St. Mary's scheduled halftime celebration for its 1995 Northeast Conference championship team was postponed to Feb. 28 due to inclement weather.
