SE Louisiana slips past Abilene Christian, 55-54

HAMMOND, La. (AP) Jimmie Duplessis converted a pair of layups and Cedric Jenkins scored a third to bring Southeast Louisiana back from five-points down with just over four minutes to play and secured a 55-54 win over Abilene Christian Saturday.

SE Louisiana (9-17, 6-7) has clinched a spot in the Southland Conference tournament but still can improve its seed position.

Abilene Christian held a five-point lead at the break, 33-28, but the Lions scored the first six points of the second half to take the lead, 34-33 and used a second 6-0 run to make it 42-37.

Zay Jackson scored 24 points to lead SE Louisiana, which shot 52.5 percent from the field (21 of 40), including 2 of 9 from beyond the arc.

Parker Wentz scored 22 points to lead Abilene Christian (9-17, 3-10), with Austin Cooke adding 10 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
