J.J. Panoske leads Milwaukee over Cleveland State 66-60

MILWAUKEE (AP) J.J. Panoske had career highs of five 3-pointers and 19 points, Matt Tiby nailed a key 3 late, and Milwaukee beat Cleveland State 66-60 on Sunday.

Panoske had the first eight points of an 11-0 burst that gave the Panthers (12-16, 7-7 Horizon) the lead for good. Tiby's 3 capped the run at 62-55 with 1:37 left.

Charlie Lee's 3-pointer with 1:13 left cut the deficit to four for Cleveland State (17-12, 11-4), but the Panthers made 4 of 6 free throws in the final minute.

Akeem Springs had 14 points, Steve McWhorter scored 13 and Tiby added 11 for Milwaukee.

Anton Grady had 24 points and 10 rebounds, and Trey Lewis had 19 and 10 to lead Cleveland State. Lee added 14 points for the Vikings who dropped 1 1/2 games behind first-place Valparaiso in the league standings. CSU hosts Valpo on Friday.
